Solar PV

System size: 50 kWp

The Summit Centre is a large warehouse and office building situated in Potters Bar

Commissioned by the landlord, Riohurst Investments, we carried out a detailed energy assessment of the building with a view to establishing if its energy efficiency rating would comply with the forthcoming Energy Efficiency Regulations England & Wales which come into force on 1.4.2018.

A change in tenant allowed recommended energy efficiency improvements to be made to the building featuring, a new insulated trapezoidal roof and the installation of a 50kWp Solar PV system.

The result enabled the building to achieve a D Rated EPC thereby ensuring full compliance with the forthcoming regulations and protecting the Landlord’s asset value.

The building now generates 43,200kWh of Solar Electricity per annum, off-sets 19.5t CO2 per annum with the landlord benefitting from payments through the Feed in Tariff scheme and the new tenant receiving lower cost electricity. With internet based monitoring, quarterly meter readings are taken remotely.
