St Stephen’s Canonbury, London
Project Outline
After bombing in 1940, the original façade and spire were saved and this busy Grade 2 listed Church was rebuilt in 1957.
The community is thriving and with the Manna, St Stephen’s outreach ministry, serving homeless and marginalised people operating throughout the week our Solar PV System was installed as part of an energy efficiency upgrade.
With Islington Council planning consent and Diocese approval successfully granted the works were completed in 2019.
Our 18.0 kWp Solar PV system generates 16,540 kWh of electricity per annum with a significant proportion used in the building.
The slate roof mounting system keeps the panels as close to the roof surface as possible and being all black, enables the array to blend in with the roof surface as aesthetically as possible.
The system reduces the building’s annual grid electricity cost and by saving 8.60t CO2 per annum, helps to protect the environment in London’s busy metropolis.
