The Tavistock Hotel, Central London
Project Outline
As part of the Imperial London Hotels Group, The Tavistock Hotel occupies an entire block on the south side of Tavistock Square. As part of on-going maintenance work the roof was due to be replaced and the opportunity to design & install a Solar Energy system was not to be missed.
Two inverters were used for this sizeable array to optimise performance. The installation also features web-based monitoring and a public display to communicate the group’s investment in green technology.
With a high 24/7 continuous base load, virtually all the electricity generated will be used on the premises. This enhances the cost-savings and return-on-investment achieved. In addition, the system generates a significant annual income, guaranteed for 25 years, and saves 11.6t CO2 pa.
